Shoulder Pain

Posted by:

Shoulder pain occurs often, and can range from a simple strained muscle in the rotator cuff to a complete tear or rupture due to a traumatic injury. “Frozen shoulder,” or adhesive capsulitis, can occur with no trauma or injury at all, or after having the arm immobilized perhaps after a surgery. The capsule of connective tissue surrounding the shoulder joint tightens up causing pain and decreased range of motion.

When treating shoulder pain, our doctors will treat the muscles, fascia, and ligaments in the rotator cuff and surrounding areas with ART. This breaks up adhesions and scar tissue built up in between the muscles, increases range of motion and encourages healthier cell regeneration. A traditional chiropractic manipulation is not done on the shoulder joint itself, but sometimes pain can be relieved with other modalities available in our office, including electric muscle stimulation with heat/ice.
